OnePlus 6

It’s official, key information related to the release of the OnePlus 6 has been leaked! The details were just leaked on Weibo yesterday but the news has already taken the internet by storm, we’ve boiled down the nitty gritty of the release.

Anticipated Release

While no exact date has been published, reports indicate the OnePlus 6 will be released in the latter half of the second quarter. We’re sure that more details will squeak out as the date approaches but pencil in late May or June as likely release dates.

The surprising leak has offered up tons of tidbits related to the OnePlus 6 but much still remains up to speculation. While not confirmed, there are some reports suggesting that the phone may feature a glass back and wireless charging. Little has been revealed related to software features, we can only hope that we will soon be privy to updates to the Android style OnePlus has used for years.

Pricing Details

Priced at $749, there still remains considerable uncertainty about the affordability of the phone. Why, you ask? Since this information has leaked, there has been no confirmation of whether the quoted price point is in USD. Since OnePlus has built their brand around offering phones with top of the line technology at affordable prices, there’s tremendous speculation that the price has been quoted in another currency and will in fact be more affordable.

Expected Specifications
What does the OnePlus have to offer its loyal consumer? The leak indicates that we can expect the following, a large, 6.3-inch screen, 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel dual camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip, quick charger features, 6GB RAM, 64GB built-in storage (with microSD slot), and last but not least, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, with Face Unlock. Pretty nifty, right? While it’s hard to pick a feature we’re most excited about, the added security offered by the finger printer scanner and face unlock sounds really cool.

With the OnePlus 5T touted as one of the best Android phones for the price point, a release date just a few months from now will determine whether the same is true of the OnePlus 6.
Ready for the next when you are.
